MUSICAL THEATRE
With playwright Sandra de Helen Kasten co-wrote THE CLUE IN THE OLD BIRDBATH a musical theatre spoof of the Nancy Drew mystery series. The play enjoyed long runs at Chicago's Stage Left theatre and Body Politic theatre, and has been produced around the country, notably at Portland Women's Theatre, and At the Foot of the Mountain theatre in Minneapolis.
ONE-ACT PLAY
Kate's one-woman, one-act play CHINESE PUZZLE was selected by the Pittsburgh New Works Festival to be produced on 8/27/17. It is a humorous monologue in which a woman recounts her confrontation with an obstreperous down coat and disapproving Mennonite volunteers at her favorite second hand clothing store.
YOUTUBE MONOLOGUES: boomeronachair
From her pretty comfortable chair, Kate muses on the shelf life of 60-year-old tattoos, the murkiness of the expression “at first blush,” the perceptible speech of a trash can lid, the impending fate of climate change deniers (along with the rest of us), Donald Trump (so much to say about him, so little time), and other matters of pressing concern. https://www.youtube.com/user/boomeronachair
